Welcome to Cherrywood Acres Public School!

Cherrywood Acres was originally built in 1964 with 7 classrooms and a playroom.  By 1965 the school was so full that an addition of 7 more classrooms, a library and playroom was planned.  This addition was finished in 1967 and the school was double the size.  The name originally came from the fact that the property was at one time a cherry orchard.  Now the school backs onto a City of Niagara Falls park with a playground, tennis courts, ball diamond and soccer field.

The school is nicknamed “cheery wood” by the parents and staff because of the wonderful staff, students and families in our community.  At present, there are about 250 students and 20 staff members.  The school teaches students from grade JK to grade 8 and there are 13 classrooms, a computer lab, library and gym.

We are pleased to provide an outstanding education for our students. Progressive programs for our students are delivered by our dedicated and professional staff who care about your child.

Our Board is focused on literacy and numeracy achievement and creating an environment where we are working together on our goal of success for every student.

Our school strives to provide programs to address the needs of all our students, and our
students participate in experiences and opportunities that encourage the development of excellence, integrity and respect.

Community Partnerships and parent involvement are crucial to a successful education for our students. We welcome your input and questions as we continually improve our school.
